I hear what you're saying, and in comparison to the Republicans it's very very true. They have this machine that pumps out their common message while the Democrats have 12,006 variations on a theme.

This said, the times right now are different it seems. Liberals and Democrats and like minded others all seemed to be strongly united behind one common cause right now, and that's the removal of Bush and his buddies from office. Despite differences on individual issues the united energy towards achieving this goal seems very great right now.
