Cartooning for Peace - Wellington is a three-part event:

1st-15th November 2008: An exbibition in the Fletcher Challenge Foyer (Michael Fowler Centre, Wellington) featuring 250 A3-size cartoons on a wide range of issues such as peace, conflict, leadership, and global issues, in particular the environment.

12th-13th November 2008: The organisation of the two-day "Cartooning for Peace" conference, open to the public (free entry), in Wellington City Council premises (Illot Chamber + Wellington Chamber). The dates, chosen with Victoria University, fall at the end of the last week of the exams, when students are still in Wellington. We trust that many university students, and high school students (accompanied by their teachers) will come. As live footage of the debate will be recorded by Tourism New Zealand, we are now considering broadcasting the debates on a giant screen outside the Town Hall.

14th November 2008: A gala dinner with up to 150 guests at Te Papa to celebrate Cartooning for Peace and the Centenary of the Alliance Française de Wellington. If you are interested, please contact the Alliance Française at alliance@paradise.net.nz to book your tickets.
