We need a political solution in Afghanistan
Take Action!

On Monday, President Obama announced that the majority of our troops would be redeployed from Iraq within a year; Healthcare NOT Warfare supporters should be happy. But, with that news comes the bitter pill of Afghanistan, where the same president is escalating U.S. involvement there and in the mountainous border area of Pakistan.

We’ve been hitting the “healthcare” part of the Healthcare NOT Warfare campaign pretty hard lately, and for good reason, since healthcare reform is a topic of great discussion on Capitol Hill.

Unfortunately, the bombing of targets in the mountains of Pakistan and the deployment of additional troops to Afghanistan have happened with little or no discussion in Congress.

Tell Congress to bring our troops home from Afghanistan.

Afghanistan could become for Obama what Vietnam became for Johnson (read more at:http://pdamerica.org/articles/news/2009-02-02-22-31-56-news.php). We cannot allow that to happen when the possibilities for real progressive reforms are within reach. Reforms that put people first—at home and abroad.
