Dear Friends, The mission of the "D.C. Interfaith Peace Initiative" is to promote peace and harmony among people of all faiths and beliefs. Therefore, we are honored to invite you to the experience of a very special interfaith gathering, "SHARING RAMADAN: Breaking Bread Together ~ Exploring Common Values!" at Busboys and Poets Restaurant. Please reference their calendar of events ~ www.busboysandpoets.com Join us for this "Interfaith Iftar"! Experience the festive atmosphere that accompanies the daily breaking of the fast! Learn about the traditions and practices of Ramadan fasting! Explore the significance of Ramadan fasting as an instrument for social change and the role of fasting in all three Abrahamic traditions with our esteemed interfaith panel. It will be held on Wednesday ~ September 9th, 2009, at 7:00 pm at Busboys & Poets (Langston Room), 14th & V St. NW DC 20009. Doors will open at 6:30 pm ~ Please arrive promptly! *There will be an opportunity for Muslims to offer Salat Prayers and for Non-Muslims to learn their meaning and significance. No alcohol will be served and all food served will be halal. Please see the attached flyer for further details and information! (Adobe Acrobat Reader may be downloaded for free.)
