Understandibly a lot of people are upset that Bush has won the election. But what good is it doing anyone to gloat? What good is it doing for us to wallow in pity?
To a point our response was understandable, however, now I think some people are just turning into sore losers.
Why can't we look and marvel at the fact that democracy works? 116 million people got out and voted! Considering children and immigrants that can not vote, thats a huge chunk of the elligible population. Thats also more than ever before!
Its a pretty negative assumption to say that Republicans won because they are stupid. Its also an un-American thing to say people should not vote because they aren't smart. There are brilliant people in both the Republican party and the Democratic party. As wrong as Bush is he is not a moron like common beliefs would tell us. He is a smart guy, he just is influenced by the wrong ideology. Then if all the smart people voted Kerry and the idiots voted Bush, so be it. It is "every" American's right to vote for whom they wish. To deny someone a right based on their level of intelligence is a property of both Communism (far left) and facism (far right). If Bush won thanks to idiots then we didn't do enough to educate them.
America is divided by ideology. This might not sound so great, but can't we be happy that we are in a nation where we are not murdered for ideology? Even though you might think the Republican ideology is wrong, its still their right to have it. As hard as it is to accept it, we can't force people to think the same way as democrats.
America chose, George Bush. Hate it or love it, he's got four more years. America chose him. Had Kerry won the same arguements could be made about the Democrats, and there would be arguing and bickering up and down the board. One differece between the groups is that it just isn't in the Republican ideology to get up and publicly protest in the same fashion as democrats.
Can we somehow find a new way to show our disdain while supporting America? It won't help the democrats if we continue to quibble over something we have already lost. We can stand up and keep fighting, but we should cut our losses before they get worse and then try it again in a new way.
