Let's hope the elections in Iraq bring peace, Angie. But even if they do, the offense of America's war of aggression remains. We attacked a nation that hadn't laid a glove on us. That makes us the villain even if things turn out well after the elections. The point to remember is that the end does not justify the means. An evil act (like a war of aggression) is not justified by a good outcome. This is a subtle point and it's lost on most Americans who by their nature are pragmatic rather than principled. "If it works," most Americans would say, "don't knock it." Or a variation: "Might makes right." You and I know better.
