I was raised a Catholic, but because of a very special teacher, a nun, in my catholic school, I have learned to question the foundations of my religion, of my faith. Because of this, I have more respect and honor for all true religious beliefs. Our religious organizations, our churches are not our faith. They are simply an organization run by a group of people. Some are wonderful and caring and loving. Some use the bible and their teachings to control. Faith is not about control, it is about love, loving our neighbor, even if that neighbor is a sinner or of a different religious belief.

Christianity is not the oldest religion. It's roots lye in other religious beliefs. The same beliefs that we scorn today. Psalms in our Bible is from The Book of the Dead - Egyptian source. Much of our Christian belief comes from Pagan practices. Much of our religious holidays, originated from pagan holidays. Our bibles have many different translations. Many books have been left out of the bible. Washington D.C. is set up in a pentagram. Many of our government's release dates of information are planned according to astrological aspects. So, when so many religious factions share a similar basic source, how can we be so quick to place judgement on them for their beliefs?

I do not hate the people of Iraq. We say that their government does not tell them the real truth about what is happening. Does ours? Are we that naive to think that we hear everything that really is going on? My prayers are with all the people who have to suffer because of those whose agenda is power and greed. I honor them for their beliefs that are set upon love for one another. I don't need to agree with them. I don't agree with the violence, with the persecutions of sex or race. But I don't believe that all people of one religion completely believe in exactly the same things either. There are good people in all faiths, in all races.

Thank you.
