Dear friends at Voices for Peace,
A friend of mine, Del Hokanson, will be turning 50 on May 19th, 2005. Her husband has asked for anyone to send her "wishes for peace from friends and kindred spirits all over the world."
Del has always donated time and money to promote peace and help others. Daily she practices the conviction that what is required of us is to "do justice, and love kindness, and walk humbly with your God." She has requested a peace pole be planted in the front of her house, which her husband, Pete, will be doing at a surprise party.
As I was growing up this wonderful woman was always a role model for me, showing how you need to treat others with human dignity and to always seek peacful means for conflict resolution. She is a very devoted woman to the cause of peace.
I believe she would be tickled pink to receive a special note wishing her peace from people around the country and even the world! It is always great to awknowledge the spirit of peace where ever it may be found.
If you would like to send a message of peace to Del for her 50th birthday, this is going to be a surprise party for her and all the notes and peace-full wishes are to be sent to a friend's house.
