Hey Brandon, please understand that I agree with you that Cindy Sheehan's son, and those children of the other mothers, joined into the service. I have no argument with that, none, nor do I think those parents. I also agree with you that when they joined the service they also knew that they might die in service to their country. I have no argument with you on this, nor do I expect those parents do either.
You mention war as a means to protect the country, and THAT is the whole point, Brandon. The President has said that their is no evidence linking Sadaam Hussein to Sept 11. The President has said that. Meantime it is well understood that Sadaam Hussein and Iraq did not have the weapons or the means to attack the United States. This is what the UN inspectors were finding and reporting back when the President sent the country to war. The result is that the soldiers that were sent to Iraq were not sent there to protect the United States, as Iraq posed no threat to the United States. Please understand, Brandon, this - this - is the point that Cindy Sheehan, and those other parents, and I, are trying to make. Their children joined the military in good faith, knowing the dangers they might encounter. But the President sent those young people to Iraq, and ultimately to their deaths, on the basis of lies - not for righteous reasons.
